I'm looking for a book which I think was called "Violet"...?

It is a children%26#039;s/teenagers book, about a 12 year old girl called Violet, who is too clever for her age and rather scarily mature. Her dad is called Pete, who has just remarried. His wife is Lily, and Violet doesn%26#039;t like her. There is also an aunt Esther (sister of Pete%26#039;s).


I remember one instance, in which Pete and Lily go to Taxco, Mexico, for their honeymoon, but Violet follows and disrupts the peace and quiet of a lazy beautiful little Mexican town and makes everybody efficient.


There many other things that happen throughout the book, all caused by Violet being too smart for her age and trying to act as a grown up, and the situations are quite funny.


Does anybody know the correct title, the author, and where I can get a copy?
