My boyfriend and I have five cats. We live in a large home, so there is plenty of room for them to run and play. They have access to the entire home. They all get along great with one another, are well cared for, and loved a great deal. Both my boyfriend and I work full time, but I make sure to give each kitty love and attention. Here is where my question comes into play, I just went to Petsmart on my lunch break and saw a cat up for adoption. Her story is heartbreaking. She is only 4 years old. She was hit by a car about 2 years ago, she is okay now but she walks a little lopsided sometimes. She has spent the last two years of her life living in a cage. She just seems so sad and despondent! I have a female cat that looks a lot like her named Lily, this kitty up for adoption is named Tulip. Seems to me like it is meant to be, lol. Anyway, do you think I would be doing the right thing by adopting her and giving her a home and some friends to cuddle and play with?
Should I adopt just one more?????
One more would be a nice thing..and then...see how you do! I think that the fact that you would want to do a great thing for a little one like her..is such a loving and kind thing to do! I think that people who love their kitties are very good people, most definitely!and who love animals and want to better the animals lives around them, and can, that is really awesome!
You go girl!
Reply:yes, Tulip%26#039;s story made tears come to my eyes
Reply:get one
Reply:Adopt her immediately. You both made a connection and I think it will work out.
Reply:Sure..why not?.If you have the room and can afford any vet care, do it.
Reply:the only problem here is that their are millions with sad stories and of course everytime you see one you cant get it. so the question here is can you ever stop? of course get it if you think you can give it a good home. but know when to stop. there is a legal limit to the number of cats inside a home you can have make sure you dont get in trouble by having 40 one day lol
Reply:If you feel so strongly about the little kitty, adopt it. You are obviously a caring and loving person to want to make this cat%26#039;s life better. I am sure it will settle down with the rest of your cat family and have a happy life. I am constantly doing the same thing, even named one %26quot;Handbrake%26quot;, as a reminder that I had to put the brakes on, but it didn%26#039;t help! Just about every time I see a cat in need, it comes home with me and because of that, once landed up with 24 cats. I have found that all of the strays I have rescued have settled down very well, and not tried to fight the already established cats. Maybe they can sense that they have been rescued, and feel grateful. ( or maybe I%26#039;m just a bit too fanciful, who knows!)
Reply:YES...YES...YES!!!sure why not you have the room, you have the love and care that she needs...go for it...!!!
Reply:Do whatever you feel is right, as long as you take care of the cat responsibly, but also remember you don%26#039;t want to force what is essentially a new roommate on someone who doesn%26#039;t want one. Think about the situation for a week at least, if you still want the cat I would consider getting it.
Reply:You sound just like me. My bleeding heart went out to a baby who was declawed and then left at a shelter because her owner had allergies. I live in rural community where finding her a home indoors all the time was near impossible. She had been in the pound for 6 months of her 1 year life because of someone%26#039;s stupidity. I have 4 cats and decided against adopting her due to her being declawed and questions about her getting along withmy others. Anyway, if you have room and time adopt her. She deserves a good loving place to live. And thanks for letting me rant some! Hope you and your kitty family have the best of luck!
Reply:I would. I mean what%26#039;s the difference another food bowl and some extra litter scooping? Go for it girl. Than you for being so kind hearted.
Reply:If you truly have time to pay attention and love the cat, and are not breaking city ordinances I say go for it I have 5 Aquariums, 3 Cats, and to many dogs to mention all who live in my home and I love them all
Reply:I think you should go for it. The cat needs a loving home which you will provide and other cats friends to keep her company. Whats one more cat when you have 5 make it an even 6! Good luck, I hope you get the kitty keep us up to date.
Reply:You sound like a loving person to cats %26amp; you give them a great home. I say adopt her you will be giving her a good place to live %26amp; she can be free from a cage.
Good Luck
Reply:absolutely, if you have the room i dont see the problem. if you and your boyfriend can agree than i would go for it, there should be more kind hearted people like you out int he world to care for all these poor animals in the shelter
Reply:Hey, if you have the time, room, and money. I would go for it.
