Did I name my children wrong?

When i named my kids, I kept a theme going on. All the names had 4 letters. When i married my husband, we wanted 8 kids, well we ended up with 12. My oldest daughter Emma is 22. Then come my high schoolers Cole (17) and Lily (15). Adam (12), Skye, Brad, and Kyle came in consecutive years. After them we went for number 8, and got twins Ruth and Jade (now 7). we had 9 and we were done, or so we thought. the kids sent us on cruise for our anniversarry and 9 mo. later came along Todd (6). then my husband got %26quot;fixed%26quot; as he likes to put it, but before the procedure became effective, i got pregnant again and Seth and Ryan (4) got us to that number 12. when people hear my kids names (Emma, Cole, Lily, Adam, Skye, Brad, Kyle, Ruth, Jade, Todd, Seth, and Ryan), they always ask %26quot;why are they so short? that was a stupid thing to do%26quot;/ i%26#039;ve always kind of like their names. but to get a second opnion, was naming them all like that weird or wrong? thanks.

Did I name my children wrong?
I think it%26#039;s cool and if I have the chance I would do the same thing!! Props for the ADORABLE names!! :)
Reply:What a blessing you have to have 12 children. Their names are wonderful. How dare anybody criticize what%26#039;s not theirs to begin with! Some people just need to find something to do. I love their names!
Reply:I dont think there is anything wrong with the way that you named them. I like the names that you came up with. They all fit together nicely. And no, that was not stupid of you.
Reply:all the names a wondreful..They should be short all that writting you must be doing writing notes.
Reply:I love all those names. :-)
Reply:i think its supper supper cute, and tweleve kids kewl
Reply:I am proud that you named all your kids nice, normal names! Good job!
Reply:I don%26#039;t see anything wrong with those names... at least you didn%26#039;t name all 12 the same thing like George Foreman or have them all starting with the same letter
Reply:i like the names those people don%26#039;t know what their talking about
Reply:The key to not %26quot;naming your children wrong%26quot; is to follow your heart. You knew just what you wanted in a name and that is what you chose. They are all cute names, as well as ones that will grow well with them.

Very nice job!! = )
Reply:Why would anyone even ask you that? I find that so odd. What%26#039;s wrong with them being short? I think they are all great and that you should respond with %26quot; you try to name 12 children and see what you come up with!!!!!%26quot;

They are all great and as long as they are all happy who should care what your reason for giving them short names was. Proves my point once again that people don%26#039;t think, they just speak.
Reply:Perfect names!!! They%26#039;re all great!
Reply:with 12 kids why do you even care what people think about their names! Just use all of your TLCare on taking care of those 12 blessings!
Reply:Not at all! Sure, written out they%26#039;re all on the shorter side -- though that%26#039;s not a bad thing when you%26#039;re typing out a dozen, I%26#039;m sure LOL -- but they%26#039;re not even the same number of syllables or anything. Seriously, how similar do Emma and Cole sound when you say them together?

Honestly, I HATE obviously-matchy sibling names, but the number of letters thing you have going is certainly not that. Now if you%26#039;d gone with Randy, Ryan, Riley, Ronan, Riordan, Rachel, Raymond, Robert, Ruby, Richard, Rowan and Roland -- all two syllable R names -- THAT would have been overkill. ;)
Reply:My parents chose short names for my sisters and I for practical reasons (so they tell us). Ruth, Erin, and Dana are simply easier names to bubble in on standard exams that you have to take in school. My parents really emphasized education with us. I%26#039;ve never thought it was stupid to have a short first name. Our middle names are all longer.

Having a short name isn%26#039;t weird. If you like them and your kids like them, I would say you chose well.
Reply:Good idea...When i was growing up and learning how to spell my name it was so hard because my mom made me write out my full name(Jessica) and my name was so common at that time (still is).The names you have are really cute i like them. When i have kids i wanna have a short unique name, but not so unique no one knows how to say it.

Reply:Well, I say, you have 12 kids, you wouldn%26#039;t want to keep up w/ a bunch of fancy names w/ complicated spellings!

My mom did the same 4 ltrs for the 5 of us kids....but there%26#039;s only 5, so I don%26#039;t think ppl notice as much.

I don%26#039;t see a problem w/ it, and I don%26#039;t know why it would matter...
Reply:your names sound fine to me
Reply:no I don%26#039;t think you named them wrong as long as your happy with the names but really theres nothing you can do now anyways
Reply:no actually they%26#039;re all reallly nice names and no one really notices if they%26#039;re short or not...........too late neways :)

wow ur exactly like cheaper by the dozen.....i guess thats fun to have a big family...
Reply:that%26#039;s a lot of name to call to supper... I wouldn%26#039;t want to say names like Zachary, Alexander, Elizabeth... would take you half an hour to call them off.. theres nothing wrong with the names you picked I think their great.
Reply:Your life sounds very much like the movie with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt (the name escapes me right now).... suspiciously like it....
Reply:I think it is a nice way to have a theme but not so confusing for people like all of the same letter. Emma doesn%26#039;t have four letters though...
Reply:No i think you did a very good job!

Bravo
Reply:Oh my goodness! 12 kids, you must be an amazing parent! I can barely keep up with 4 (and another on the way)! I did the 4 letter thing as well: Anna, Emma, Kate, and Nina (new baby%26#039;s going to be Sara). I love every single one of your names except Ruth. Please don%26#039;t convince yourself they are bad, they aren%26#039;t at all. They are very beautiful!
Reply:they are all beautiful names and I am sure beautiful kids as well!! Hope all is well with all of you but freom just the little you have said on here, it seems you are a big happy family. My dad is one of 9 siblings and my grandmother is the oldest of 13 siblings.
Reply:Well why the fuss can%26#039;t they mind their own business? if they didn%26#039;t have short names, it would be hard for all of them to learn each others names ,and how to spell them.
Reply:Those are great names. There will always be someone who says something negative about everything you do. Ignore them.
Reply:I like those names so what if they are short as long as you your husband and your kids like them be happy.

That is alot of kids. Twelve is a good number of kids though.

*Krstl*
Reply:The names are fine. they are all normal, easy names. no problem!
Reply:It sounds like the beginning of Cheaper by the Dozen lol! There is nothing wrong with your kids names. They are all nice names.
