What should my little sister sing for her school talent show?

My little sister is 9 years old and she wants to enter into her school%26#039;s talent show. She wants to sing a song, but the problem is that she%26#039;s not a great singer; a few more years and she%26#039;ll be great. But she%26#039;s little, I don%26#039;t expect the competition to be serious, and thus I will not discourage her aspiration and coach her. I want to choose an easy song for her to sing, like Lily Allen%26#039;s cover of %26quot;Naive%26quot; or %26quot;With Love%26quot; by Hilary Duff. Does anybody have any other, better ideas?

Reply:I suggest %26quot;A Small World%26quot; it%26#039;s very easy to sing... :-) and a very nice song,, that%26#039;s my fav. song when i was little...

well.. %26quot;Somewhere over the rainbow%26quot; is okey too :-)
Reply:Whatever you choose,PLEASE don%26#039;t let it be %26quot;(The Sun Will Come Out) Tomorrow%26quot; from Annie!!!
Reply:First off, any good coach or teacher knows you keep the songs age appropriate. That said, are your choices appropriate for her age? Is she old enough to have lived through the experiences the songs are speaking of? I won%26#039;t say %26#039;yes%26#039; or %26#039;no%26#039; because I%26#039;m unfamiliar with the songs.

I would highly suggest seeking out a song that is more appropriate for her age. Go with something by Hannah Montana if you want to %26quot;rock it out%26quot;, by all means. The Cheetah Girls are another great choice for a 9 year old. Disney songs are great choices for young voices - most of them are simple enough that they don%26#039;t intimidate a young singer. And they are familiar, %26quot;power%26quot; songs young singers can relate to.

My top picks:

* Strut - Cheetah Girls

* Part of Your World - Little Mermaid

* Cinderella - Cheetah Girls

* Any of Hannah Montana%26#039;s songs

* Somewhere Over the Rainbow

* Somewhere Out There

ETA: Yes, Disney does have some power-house singers, but mostly they are just perfectionists.

I had two students this spring (back in February) who sang a couple of Disney songs. One sang %26quot;Cinderella%26quot;, her voice is weak but her routine was tight. She won her age division. Another sang a Hannah Montana song and really worked the crowd. Another who didn%26#039;t have that strong of a voice but really worked it!

I%26#039;ve used %26quot;Part of Your World%26quot; and %26quot;Candle on the Water%26quot; for a couple of girls before and they did exceedingly well. Really, as long as the song is age appropriate and your sis is hyped about singing it she%26#039;ll do great! If you like I don%26#039;t mind passing along the routine for %26#039;Cinderella%26#039; - you can email me from my profile if you%26#039;re interested.
Reply:Well Hilary Duff doesn%26#039;t have much talent so her songs are fairly easy to sing. I also think that its appropriate for your sister%26#039;s age, her peers will most likely know Hilary Duff songs rather than Lily Allen. Some of Lily Allen%26#039;s lyrics might be a bit too mature for a 9 year old. Good luck to your sis, she%26#039;ll be awesome anyway. It takes a lot of courage to get on stage and sing.
Reply:%26quot;Somewhere Over the Rainbow%26quot; It%26#039;s a show stopper everytime!
Reply:perhaps respect b/c it has a great tune and the teachers would probably love and it would be cute coming from a little girl but show her some mves to go with tell her to dance liike she feels thats when it really comes together
