When will my waterlily leaves appear on the surface?

I put the plant in my pond last year (about 2ft deep) and it produced plenty of leaves throughout the summer but no flowers. This year there%26#039;s no sign of it yet. When will it come up?

There is quite a lot of oxygenating weed in the pond; will the lily be able to get through? There%26#039;s no blanketweed or algae and it doesn%26#039;t seem to clogged for all the wildlife.

When will my waterlily leaves appear on the surface?
Depending on your weather, by the end of May or first part of June, the leaves should reach the top of the water. The submerged vegetation will not hamper them at all. Because they did not flower last year, there could be several things going on. The lily needs to be divided. It needs to be in at least 5 hours of sun daily and it needs feeding every month, but would rather have food every 2 weeks.
Reply:We had a water pond with lots of different colored lillies for 26 years (until we moved). Be sure to fertilize every 2-3 weeks in the summer. This helps produce blooms. When the water temperature gets warm enough they%26#039;ll start popping out of the water.
Reply:it might take a while.

with mine, sometimes there were just random flowers in spring/summer
Reply:i live at the lake and where i am july august they pop up
