Calla lilly?

I have a pot that had two cally lillies growing and the squirrels ate the head off of one of them and now the other lilly looks droopy and its dying- do I cut them down and will knew lilies grow? This is my first year with these flowers and dont know much about them- but they are beautiful when they are in bloom!!

Calla lilly?
That is odd that squirrels would eat them... I have a lot of calla lilies, and a lot of squirrels as well, and have never encountered this problem. In my experience with callas, they are extremely hardy. They will seemingly die from frost or drought, only to reappear later when conditions are favorable again. Callas are grown from a rhizome, and they LOVE water. In fact, I just put some of mine in a small pond several months ago, and they are thriving. When my flowerbed-planted callas get sloppy looking, I cut back all foliage that looks bad--they always come back. Good luck!
Reply:Calla lilies are bulbs. Just keep watering as usual. This season may be lost-perhaps not; but they%26#039;ll return next season.
Reply:Odd that the squirrels would eat the head but strange things happen. Cut them back and hope for the best, but you should repot them with new potting soil since the other is droopy. The squirrel may have urinated in the pot. Hope this helps. Mike
