i planted bulbs last year..i think they were day lilies...and some others...i also planted more this year...but i dont remember what it was i planted...i have plants coming up everywhere...but no flowers.i know what the lillies look like....how can i tell what else i have coming up?
Planting bulbs?
the day lilies ( ex.....stella d%26#039;oro) will have long slender pointed leaves that grow from the ground and not from a central stem. Oriental or Asiatic lilies ( ex....stargazer or %26#039;easter%26#039; ) will have shorter leaves growing from a central stalk....others will start with a few leaves then produce an %26#039;artichoke%26#039; looking bud that will continue to bloom....Tulips have large ovoid flat leaves with very little shine to them.....Iris have flat pointed leaves that also have very little shine and the rhizome should be visible at ground level....Crocus will have grassy leaves with a visible whitish stripe down the middle....hope this helps....
Reply:You simply will have to wait till they bloom.
Reply:I guess that you will have to wait until they flower :))).
Next time you might try putting a plant stake with the info right next to the plant or plants. When I plant bulbs, I always stick a twig or small branch in the ground. Then I know not to dig there in the spring!
Good luck!
