Over protective dad?

I%26#039;m 18 (as of early this month) and I have been dating my boyfriend Simon for a year and a half now. But despite the fact that I%26#039;m 18 my dad still tries to have absolute control over my life. I found out last week that he had been reading my emails (I now have a new email address), I already knew that my dad reads my text messages so Simon and I don%26#039;t txt unless its like when we are meeting or something. I have to tell him when I%26#039;m going somewhere, why, with whom, where and when I%26#039;ll be back. Whenever I talk to him about it he just gets aggressive. He won%26#039;t listen to my mum and I have three older brothers who don%26#039;t help at all!!!

I%26#039;m not even muslim or anything.

I%26#039;m just going insane, what do I do?

Over protective dad?
Since you%26#039;re living under his roof, just try to conform for now, if you don%26#039;t it might jeopardize your relationship with your boyfriend.
Reply:God I wish I had a daughter I could be protective about but I do not.

Your Dad maybe over protective in your eyes and snooping into e mails etc but his heart must e in the right place and he is just looking out for someone he cares about alot.

Try talking to him one to one and slowly explain how you feel, please do not put a wedge between the two of you, he is the only Dad you have got.

He is affraid that he will loose you, you are becoming independant and it is alot for him to take on having had you around for so long and e does not want to face the future.

Your Mum is trapped in the middle and well brothers are brohers and do not normally help anyhow.
Reply:your religion or being muslim doesnt matter at all.

im sorry but that can be affending to some people.

its more of your relationship with your dad.

good luck
