My mother%26#039;s name was (1950s) Margaret Mary Mackenzie and she lived and worked at the Shaftesbury Hotel (now Radisson Mountbatten) at Monmouth St, London WC2 for about 5/7 yrs whilst I lived with the Martin family at 36 Mimosa Street, SW6. She was stated to be British and briefly worked at Barker%26#039;s of Kensington in 1950 before securing job with the Shaftesbury. Her purported dob is 11 June 1927 and I was born 1951 at St Mary Abbot%26#039;s Hospital, Kensington. My father (diplomatic service) returned to Cairo and shortly after I was born all contact ceased apart from one contact (unnamed). 10 years I have been trying to locate Margaret who did not appear to have any family in UK and her NHS appears %26#039;different%26#039; so she may have been born abroad. 1. Friend, I wouldn%26#039;t bother with Yahoo! Answers. Most YA users are kiddiwinks, and don%26#039;t have sufficient life experience to be of assistance.
2. Have a look at these webpages, and act accordingly. Me personally, I%26#039;d fork out £40, and get the Sally Army to do all the hard work.

Reply:I would post it everywhere and on everything. Someone out there must know her. Good Luck!
Reply:I think your best bet is to go to www.genweb.com and find her there. Check out the section for different contries. Don%26#039;t forget to try and find her using the %26quot;back door%26quot; method. By that, I mean contact those people she worked with via the web, or family of those people- using Genweb. Another idea is to find a message board for Gen work that is based in England, and ask someone to do some foot work for you. :) Also, check with the places she worked- some keep employment records for years!

How to take care of a Chihuahua?
I%26#039;m getting a Chihuahua from my uncle. The original owner died and my uncle doesn%26#039;t want it to mess with his cats. The Chihuahua is 10 years old. I also have another dog, can anyone tell me how to get them to get along, and how to take care of Lily (the Chihuahua)?
How to take care of a Chihuahua?
Chihauhua%26#039; s smooth, short-haired coat should be gently brushed occasionally or simply wiped over with a damp cloth. The long coat should be brushed daily with a soft bristle brush. Bathe both types about once per month, taking care not to get water in the ears. Check the ears regularly and keep the nails trimmed. This breed is an average shedder.
Also, Chihuahua hates the cold and may shiver. It will tolerate and even appreciate a warm sweater on cooler days. They are good little dogs for apartment life. Hope it helps!

Reply:I have a chi, and the older they get the calmer they become. The chi will just lay around and sleep alot, don%26#039;t worry.

Does this sound like a good idea for a flower border?
I%26#039;m really in the gardening mood for next year, and I%26#039;m planning everything now, so everything will look great. I have a fence by some cedars that is about 60 metres long, and behind it is a nice view of an old barn. This is what I%26#039;m going to plant as a border, I%26#039;m am going to plant 4 perannuals, Pink Fireweed ( http://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/wil... ) White Soapwort, ( http://botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/s/so... ) Blue and Purple Lupins ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Maine... ) and Orange Lilies ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Hemer... ) They are all wild in my area except for lupins. Does this sound good? Do you think it would look nice? I calculated it out and i need about 65 fireweed, 70 lillies, 40 soapwort and about 40 lupins.

I think you have a great idea, especially using the borrowed vista, and I hope this is the beginning of many years of gardening with wildflowers.
I would suggest one more I like that is easy to control the spread, Solidago canadensis, Goldenrod. Also will you be including spring bulbs and columbine (Aquilegia canadensis) for early season color and native asters for late season to go with the soapwort, or are you focusing on summer blooms?
For fragrance I love the scent of Hesperis matronalis, Dame%26#039;s Rocket drifting in the evening.

I like fireweed a lot but expect a lot of spread from it and the hemerocallis. But the fireweed spreads both by seed and rhizomes underground so I trim the flowers before they set seed to keep it in my yard.
Also the soapwort doesn%26#039;t tolerate acid soil, it needs a pH 7-8 so you may need to lime if you do not have neutral soil.
Reply:Sounds lovely. Enjoy.
Reply:Wow, you%26#039;ve got spirit. Go for it, it sounds wonderful. It will be a beautiful view. I%26#039;ll bet after you are done there you%26#039;ll be moving on to another spot. Gardening is very addicting.

Why majority of the people want the couple of hermione and ron?
I %26#039;m tired because the majority of the people want the couple of hermione-ron.I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s a good couples and i don%26#039;t think too that harry and gini do a couple. My opinion is harry and hermione/ron with lavender, it%26#039;s my opinion.I think the love of harry and hermione can destroy the evil of voldemort.
I think the end must be that harry and hermione reconoise their love, because if you remember the triengule of jamesand lily-sirius
were destroy by voldemort , so trio remember this harry and hermione-ron,and they can form the triangule that years were destroy by voldemort, so can to bringback to live the triangule.
Gini , i think is little for harry and hermione and ron i think they can%26#039;t destroy anything.
I read and read all the books and i think there are more love between this persons.

I believe it is because they are both somewhat the underdog-
Harry always being focused in the centre of attention. It would be a pleasent change to have their lives centred in the limelight for once.
Forget that precocious brat Harry! Hasn´t he been pampered enough?! ;.)
P.S Do bear in mind that these are all fictional characters! No need to get upset.

HARRY POTTER 7 omg (only people who have read book SPOILERS)?
1. i cant believe how many DIED - hedwig, mad eye, dobby, lupin, tonks, fred that was so sad
2. cant beleive snape loved lily all that time and only hated harry because he was foolish
3. GUESSED RIGHT that dumbedore had oredered snape to kill him
4. thought that if harry died you would see him walking off with his parents in %26quot;heaven%26quot; was partly right as he saw dumbledore in limbo
5. cant believe that dumbledore was such a selfish and %26quot;dangerous%26quot; person
6. what did those boys do to ariana (dumbledores sister) i didnt get it
7. the 19 years later was great i%26#039;m glad JK did that didnt think she would
8.so happy ron and hermione survived but teddy tinks ended up like harry
9. did harry beat the killing curse twice altogether then?
HARRY POTTER 7 omg (only people who have read book SPOILERS)?
1. Well obviously people were going to die. In the first book it talks about how many people died and how many families were destroyed and ripped apart during Voldemort%26#039;s time, so of course this time it would be no different. So it honestly did not come a shock to me at all so many people died because i was expecting many deaths. I didn%26#039;t expect Dobby to die tho, nor Fred. Fred dies, George%26#039;s ear is cursed off... poor twins :(
2. He hated harry because he couldn%26#039;t stand the fact that he was James%26#039; son and not his. I also think the fact Harry has Lily%26#039;s eyes was haunting to snape because everytime he%26#039;d see harry he%26#039;d be reminded of his long dead love.
3. Yeah I thot so too.
4. I thot harry would die.
5. He wasn%26#039;t a bad person. I liked that JK Rowling revealed his past and showed that Dumbledore made mistakes too. I liked how she %26quot;humanized%26quot; him. Before he seemed to perfect, too good to be true. And besides, people%26#039;s mistakes are usually what help shape them into the people they become if they learn from those mistakes. Would Dumbledore have been the same person he was later in life if he had not made those mistakes earlier?
6. It never says exactly what they did. It could be anywhere from teasing her, to beating her up, to raping her.
7. I personally didn%26#039;t like the epilogue. I was diasppointed that it didn%26#039;t say who Teddy lived with, or what harry and ron and hermiones jobs were, they never really explained who Victoire was... and there were lots of other loose ends too.
8. I think it was good that she turned Teddy into a %26quot;Harry%26quot; type character.
9. No clue i%26#039;m still really confused about that whole part of the book.
Reply:Less people died than I feared

It was so sad when Dobby the house elf died
At least one person that I read predicted that the scar on his forehead was a Horcrux
I am not sure that in the end Dumbledore was selfish and dangerous - remember he worked for everybodies good -muggles and all - not just Harry
Lets just say that the boys did something to Ariana that drove her mad - could have been a lot of things. She was at a very sensitive age for a magic uses. Look at Harries mother at that age in the memories of Snape.

3. I didn%26#039;t know what to think about Dumbledore%26#039;s death in HP. But I am satisfied now.
4. I just knew she was going to kill off Harry. But I pictured Sirius, his parents, and whole extended family would be there to walk him off to the great beyond. SO GLAD I was wrong!!!!!!
5. I think this series goes to a lot of trouble to point out that no one is all good all the time. And most people are a mixture of good and bad.
6. They hit her with a killing curse, I assumed.
7. I was so glad she gave us that last scene to remember them by. Excellent!
8. Me too.
9. Actually it was 3 times! 1 as a baby, 1 in the Forest, 1 at Hogwarts.

I loved the added bit at the end because I need to know that the survivors were truly ok.
Reply:1. Yes! Hedwig was really a shock. Completely unexpected. And Fred!! How cruel. I%26#039;ve always said that the worst thing that JKR could do would be to kill one of the twins without the other. I definitely cried the most for poor Fred.
2. I loved it! It was all so sweet. And then Harry giving Snape%26#039;s name to his one child who had Lily%26#039;s eyes.
3. Yes! Been on that side for two years now. Can%26#039;t wait to say some %26quot;I told you so%26quot; %26#039;s to those who thought I was dellusional.
4. Yeah, that part was pretty cool.
5. Same here but I suppose it shouldn%26#039;t have been a shock. Great heroes usually have shady pasts, something that helps to mold them into the great people that they become.
6. The three boys (Dumbledore, Aberforth, and Gridleward) got into a three way duel and one of their spells hit Ariana by mistake, killing her.
7. I loved the last chapter. Thanks to the happiness in that chapter, I was able to put the book with a smile on my face.
8. Same here!
9. He beat it when he has in limbo and again when the curse backfired on Voldemort. Though, if you count the time as a baby as well, Harry beat the curse 3 times.
Overall, great book! A wonderful finale to a wonderful series!

Reply:SOOOOOOOOOOo sad!!!!

What are some of your theories for deathly hallows?
i have heard that harry is voldemorts last horcrux and that both harry and voldemort die. which explains why harry has voldemorts abilities. they said that it was planted the night voldemort killed lily. then at the end of the book he is reunited with sirius and is able to be with his parents.
i think this is bs because JKR has said many times that careful readers might have a go, but it is a suprising ending that no one could be able to fathom.
and that ending is way too predictable. anyone could guess that. it is most likely going to be more complex. shes been working at it 17 years and i would hope that it would be.
What are some of your theories for deathly hallows?
Oooh that%26#039;s a good one...but i don%26#039;t know....maybe it is a bit obvious...i hope it%26#039;s not a cop-out.
Bearing in mind she%26#039;s always said it will end after 7 books, then i suppose the logical solution is that Harry will die - maybe he will have to die in order for Voldemort to die.
I think there must be something with Harry%26#039;s parents involved, because she has built them up as important characters, and it%26#039;ll be interesting to see if the whole Harry/ginny romance ever comes to anything in the end.
Either way, even if she doesn%26#039;t kill him off to keep the possibility of sequels, then it%26#039;s not all gonna end happily i don%26#039;t think...it%26#039;s been getting steadily darker from the fourth one onwards....i think it%26#039;s going to be a sad one...get the kleenex ready.

Reply:I beleive that harry is a horcrux, which you know, mean he has a peice of voldemort%26#039;s soul in him. Dementors remove souls. So I think that he will have a dementor remove voldemort%26#039;s soul out of him. That way he can still be alive to kill Voldemort
Reply:I never really thought about that. I%26#039;m really excited to see how the book turns out.

I love flower gardens but I don't have a green thumb. I really don't have any know how on where to even begin
I have managed to plant 3 miniture rose bushes but I am amazed that they are still living because I haven%26#039;t taken good care of them. I have two nice areas to plant flowers but there are a lot of small rocks in there. That I think is what is really stopping me. I have a lot of health issues and it is hard for me to get down and pick all those rocks out. I just love petunias, tulips and lilies but until I can tackle this I will never have a garden. I know it is too late this year, can anyone tell me where I begin and how to do it? I want you to know I appreciate your answers in advance.
I love flower gardens but I don%26#039;t have a green thumb. I really don%26#039;t have any know how on where to even begin
Can you pay someone to clear a wide line or circles ?
Do you have a volunteer group in your area or a CASA group that has volunteers to go over for a few hours and do things like this?
I would leave a good bit of the rocks in unless they are overwhelmingly in the dirt so things can%26#039;t grow. They will prevent weeds.
Instead, plan where you want clusters of flowers, plant ground climbing flowers or ivy. Just don%26#039;t let the ivy get out of control. Shamrocks are pretty, too.
Add 1 or 2 large boulders to create more of a rock garden, garden stepping stones, a garden reflection ball, bird feeders, or add birdbath, a garden flag, or other concrete figure.
A St. Francis of Assisi statue, Bonsaie trees, a water pond with koi fish and water lillies and small waterfall, are other considerations. A water fountain coming from the middle of the pond is pretty, too.
If you have a large enough area, a wooden tier with dirt can produce quite a few strawberries. A domesticated blackberry bush, a blueberry bush, a hydrangea bush, are nice.
For now, I would wait for the mums to come in and set out a bale of hay (or small one), fake Fall leaves, and preplanted mums in pots. For the upcoming holidays, buy flags for the garden flag pole/holder, or lighted garlands for the pole holding the birdfeeder.
Pound short %26quot;rebars%26quot; {the metal rods put in concrete for support} or camping spikes into the ground to support the potted mums or other things. I have also driven a straightened coat hanger wire through the pot into the ground IF I was lucky enough that the ground was not hard.
If you get someone to help, think about this idea, too. Put a short, hollow pipe into the ground several feet. The pipe needs to be large enough to set a painted metal %26quot;tree%26quot; with only limbs on it. So look for the tree first. I%26#039;ve seen them in hobby shops and discount stores . It should look like a natural, unevenly branched tree. White, brown, or green is a good color to spray paint it. Set the tree up to hang red and pink hearts on for Valentine%26#039;s Day, plastic Easter eggs on, patriotic things for Memorial %26amp; Labor Day and 4th of July, attach a scarecrow to it for Halloween and Fall (along with your hay bale %26amp; mums), pumpkins %26amp; bunched corn stalks for Thanksgiving, lights for Christmas, - oops sorry, any Jewish holiday items if this is your denomination. You can take the %26quot;tree%26quot; out of the hole and put it up.
Flip through magazines or get on the computer to scan for landscape gardening or landscape flowers for ideas. I love walking through greenhouses and places like Home Depot or Lowe%26#039;s for ideas to pop in my head. I bet you will, too!
I hope this helps, because I would love for you to have fun decorating and watching nature grow !

If appropriate, I like arbors or a bench of iron %26amp; wood or concete/stone/marble.
Reply:First of all, let me clear something up. Flowers are colorblind (LOL) they do not know if your thumb is green or purple!!!
Do not fret! You can still have plants this year, but instead of putting them into the ground, how about planting them in pots or unusual containers, in the area you want to see flowers? Many places still have flowers you can use to create a wonderful watercolor of color!! Maintenance is a snap. You can water AND fertilize at the same time by using Miracle Gro...
For next year, consider a raised bed garden concept. It would be beneficial to frame it in this fall. You can go to Home Depot and ask them to cut pressure-treated railroad tie wood to size for a frame. It is heavy, but once in place will hardly move. For extra security, you can buy wooden stakes and pound them into the ground on the outside walls of your garden to hold the wood in place. You can also use steel rebar. (Again, Home Depot sells it and MAY be able to cut it into 2 foot sections for manageability). Then, again in the fall, lay about 7 layers of newspaper inside your frame. Water it till soaking wet. Add leaves, grass clippings and a couple of bags of hamster bedding that is 100% pine shavings. Cover with a couple of bags of compost/manure and lastly, lay black plastic garbage bags over the area. You can anchor these with wire hanger pieces that you cut. This will allow all these wonderful organics to %26quot;cook%26quot; over the winter. Invest in a GREAT gardening tool called a %26quot;Garden Claw%26quot; that you can get from Home Depot. In the Spring, remove the black plastic. Using the Garden Claw, till the soil amendments well add more topsoil and compost until the garden is the depth you want and you are ready to plant!!
Reply:It sounds like with your rocky soil that you might be in a dry area? My first thought is for you to look for low maintenance plants, ie: flowers that don%26#039;t need dead-heading, pruning or any other special needs. The types of plants suited for you will strongly depend on your planting zone......or where you live in North America. Your local garden center would be very helpful to talk to, or even a local library to look for helpful books. The winter months are a great time to read about different varieties suited for you soil type and climate!
Reply:Without knowing where you live, it is hard to recommend specific plants. My best suggestion would be to stop by a local greenhouse, and talk with them. Tell them the same thing you said here. They will be more than happy to help you and encourage you. If they aren%26#039;t helpful, you don%26#039;t want to buy from them anyway!
Good luck! I have black thumbs myself. LOL
Reply:lWillow had some good ideas. I have a few more. Contact your county extension agent%26#039;s office. They should be able to put in touch with someone who can give you advice. If you can afford it, you might try to hire a young person to give you a hand. Rocks aren%26#039;t always a determining factor in growing flowers. I%26#039;d start small first. Those dwarf roses may be a good start. Another kind of rose to look for is %26quot;Earthkind%26quot;. There are several varieties and colors of Earthkind roses available. Knock Out is the most popular. These are roses that require almost no care if care is taken planting them. Maybe you could plant a few petunias in pots to enjoy. They would be easier to take care of that way. Even tulips can be grown in pots and some lillys.
I don%26#039;t know your whole situation but maybe some of these suggestions will help.

What do you think of my poem??
Sorry, I think my conscience must%26#039;ve got lost on the way,
maybe it decided to call in sick today.
Whipe the blood on my jeans, paste on a smile,
I hope I can keep going for one last mile.
I won the battle, but he lost the fight
A siren starts sounding to my right.
Grip the wheel a little tighter, my knuckles red,
repeat the very last words that he said.
%26quot;At home I%26#039;ve got children, a daughter and wife.
My lily of the valley, the love of my life.
You%26#039;ve gotta know how I feel, with a brood of your own,%26quot;
But I shook my head, said %26quot;I live all alone.
Every night I lay down, and cry silver tears,
I killed my wife and kids, its been so many years.%26quot;
He didn%26#039;t beg for his life, but he didn%26#039;t ask for more,
so i pulled over the car, and opened the door.
He may be in bad shape, but he%26#039;ll come home tonight,
he%26#039;s gotta be there, to kiss his kid, and turn out the light.
He%26#039;ll curl up in bed, his heartbeat so weak,
but he%26#039;ll curl up with his wife, lay a kiss on her cheek.
What do you think of my poem??
the first bit about the concience sounds exactly like one fallout boys song, in fact the phrase is in one of the FOB song.
everything else pretty gud, but personally i would prefer poems that don%26#039;t ahve the aabb rhyme scheme.

Old bulbs found in my cupboard...?
They are Dutch Iris, Rock Garden Allium, Blue Lilies, Crocus, and Glory of the Snow. I am not an experienced gardener, by no means experienced with bulbs but I have them and I know they are at least 1-2 years old. Is there any hope of planting them or reviving them to have blooms this year? Any advice would be great, with lots of details please and thankyou!!
Old bulbs found in my cupboard...?
wouldn%26#039;t hurt to stick them in the ground. i once had an amaryllis that i left dried up in a pot for a year. stuck it in the ground and 12 years later i%26#039;m still propagating and giving them away.
Reply:Go ahead and plant them. They may or may not bloom this year, but this is the way you become and experienced gardener, trial and error. Good luck and hope you have some beautiful plants!
Reply:First, check the bulbs. Are they all dried out? I had some like those that I tried to plant. They never came up.
Supposedly you can try to bring them back out if it if they are not too far gone. I have heard of wraping them in a damp paper towel %26amp; keeping them damp for about 10 days to see if the bulbs plump back up and start to take on roots. I have never tried this myself.
Reply:You might try potting them in moist seedling mix or a loose soil mix and setting them in a warm, sunny window. Keep the soil just moist (never wet or soggy). I am very curious about Blue Lilies. Not sure of your growing area, but Crocus and Glory of the Snow are planted in the fall in my area, for early spring bloom (Eastern Ontario); there are also fall blooming crocus. I was going to get into some detail about their after-care, but a good idea to find out if there is going to be any growth first.
Something I will mention, however is the bulb question. You did say bulbs, so it does make a difference in planting depth.
About crocus, their growing part is referred to as a corm and they are usually planted about 2%26quot; deep and 2 - 4 inches apart, however, in your case, you might try them closer to the soil surface, at this time, to prevent rotting.
Dutch Iris are planted 4 - 6%26quot; deep and 6%26quot; apart; againtry them closer to soil surface for now.
Lilies do not have a protective outer casing, and should not be allowed to dry out, but I%26#039;d try them, as well. Usually planted deeper, try close to soil surface.
Allium (Onion and Garlic family) - again, I would try them close to the soil surface.
Glory of the Snow - the same.
I wish you luck with even one of these bulbs. It is very exciting to have anything green surface from the soil. Take care.

How do I fire my wedding planner?
I have had a wedding planner for the past 6 months. I have been engadged for a year. Really, I have been making most of the plans, with her making suggestions here and there.
But lately she%26#039;s been shooting down my ideas. I want red and white roses and lilies for flowers since my colors are red and white, and she said no, that she doesn%26#039;t do two different colored flowers. She tried to talk me out of my wedding dress that I loved. I know she knows best, but I really have my heart set on things I know I want in my wedding. She may have more expierence then me in weddings, but even my step-mom, who has been a wedding planner for 23 years, said that she isn%26#039;t being a good wedding planner. I agree.
How can I go about firing her? Do I call her? Should I write her a letter? Should I talk to her in person? Please help!
How do I fire my wedding planner?
Being a wedding planner myself I would hate to think that I treated a bride like that. Basically our job as a planner is to execute a wedding based on the wants of the bride and groom, offering suggestions when needed! If you can fire her under the contract without too much money going out then do it! The only suggestion I have is to find someone who can coordinate your wedding day for you. Your stepmom can help with all the planning and even come up with the timeline etc. of the rehearsal and wedding and reception but you will all be happy to have someone who can step in and make sure every thing is running just how you planned it to.
It really takes the stress off of you and stepmom on the actual day!

okay i like this guy but i have no idea if he likes me were friends for 2 years now but we always like tot alk to each other sometimes but i know he likes my bestfriend lily! but everyone always says or asks if were togther or not? becuse were always kind of togther? i%26#039;ve asked him out but he said he didn%26#039;t know what to say. but then me %26amp; my friend ane called him to get the answer and i was qiuet so she could ask him what his answer was but he only said that he if i would kiss him on yhe lip first thenhe would kiss me back maybe.the coversation was really confusing. we like to hangout togther and we like to share food and pop and we share the same intrest kind of. so how do i know that he likes me thats the question i want to know? he always flirt or ask so silly to the other girls it s confusing som much with him!!!!!!!!!so now what do i do !!!!!!!! :(

im a guy, this is wat i guy wud do, he%26#039;d go to his friends and gossip, his friends wud stare at u, then he wud ask u out, then u%26#039;ll see his friends makin fun of u, then he wud protect u, and then u go on another date, and if all of that happens in the same exact order, then he likes u, but if he gossips after ur 1st date, then thats a bad sign, guys keep their times w/ girls to themselves if it wus good. but seems like ur friends, just like in the same situation im in, if he says he doesnt know wat to say w/ a smile, a then run away , NOTHING ELSE, JUST THAT, then he definetly likes u
Reply:I think being that you all have been friends so long that you should sit down with him and tell him how you feel. Ask him what he thought about it and go from there. If he%26#039;s not lookin%26#039; to hook up with you then get over it and remain friends.
Reply:I think that what you should do is just flat out say to him do you like me has more than just a friend. You might be embaressed to do it, but listen the worse that%26#039;ll happen is that he%26#039;ll say no...
Reply:there is no way to judge in my opinion, you may just need to get a straightforward answer from him, although in your case, it sounds more like hes nervous. %26quot;if i would kiss him on yhe lip first thenhe would kiss me back maybe%26quot; maybe just go for it, go somewhere secluded and alone, and try it. thats all i can say as a guy, maybe a girl would have a better answer. good luck, and its pretty cool to see someone actually going for help on this crap.

Should I stay or should I go?
I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years , we have a good relationship most of the time but there are some things that make me think I should leave. He takes the mickey out of all my negative traits, all the time. He thinks it is OK and maybe even funny, I think it is undermining. He is also usually depressed about his lot in life, from my point of view, his life is actually alot better than most peoples. He uses this as an excuse for lack of sex drive and affection at times etc. He tells me loves me several times a day but I have never felt secure in this relationship. I have left three times in the last three years but he has managed to change enough for me to take him back. He is better than he used to be but I am still not sure. By the way, he is 52, I am 43. We both have our own kids from previous relationships and live separately. Lily
Should I stay or should I go?
Time to go.....you are 43...just hitting your peak in a lot of ways....don%26#039;t waste it on someone who is wasting your time...
Good Luck!
Reply:You say he is depressed yet you also say that he takes the mickey, this is what you call banter between people who care for each other, we do it all the time, you say that he never shows affection yet say that he tells you he loves you several times a day. You have left him 3 times already, expecting him to change his ways for you to take him back. All this says to me is that you are not right for each other. Give him and your self a break and leave the guy for good.
Reply:It%26#039;s hard to guess from the info you provided, but if you%26#039;ve left him 3 times in 3 years, I%26#039;d think this indicates a problem :)
Forty three is way too young to settle for someone just so you can have a companion to sit on the front porch with!
Reply:if you are not happy leave, tell him to sort himself out. then if you want him back the choice is yours.... think about you and what you want, life is short remember.
Reply:Woman should follow those gut feelings. They are usually right.
Reply:All people in your situations have baggage, there are reasons he is like he is, just like you have reasons for who you are, you need to evaluate how well you two are getting along now, and know that as the years progress, your relationship gets more and more routine, If you don%26#039;t like how things are now, you will just resent him more and more.
Considering the fact that you have already split 3 times, you need to probably move on. Once you find you are a whole person alone, then you will be happier with the next relationship.

10 points to who can answer all the Riddles?
- Scrambled Eggs
- Push the cork into the bottle and then shake the coin out
- Billy is 7 years old
- He was playing monopoly
- Turn on first switch for about a minute. Then turn it off. Now turn on second switch and immediately go into room. The light off with hot bulb conencts to the first switch. The light on with cool bulb connects to the second switch. And the light off with cold bulb connects to the third (untouched) switch.
- Three, because the two only decided... didn%26#039;t jump yet
Good questions! I have heard these before but not sure if I remember the answers correctly...

If you put a small coin into an empty wine bottle and replace the cork, how could you get the coin out of the bottle without taking out the cork or breaking the bottle? Heat the bottle - expanding air pops the cork.

A man pushed his car. He stopped when he reached a hotel at which point he knew he was bankrupt. Why?
Three switches outside a windowless room are connected to three light bulbs inside the room. How can you work out which switch connects to which bulb if you are only allowed to enter the room once? And you can not leave the door open to look in.
There are three frogs on a lily-pad leaf. Two decide to jump. How many frogs are left?
2 push the cork all the way in and let the coin fall out
3 7
4 monopoly
5 turn on 2 lights for a bit, then turn 1 off, go in room
warm off light is one you turned off, cold off one is one you
didn%26#039;t touch, on is on.
6 3, because they jump doen%26#039;t make them disappear

If he cork was replaced, it doesn%26#039;t mean that the cork was put back in.
(all the other ones were already answered)
Reply:i don%26#039;t know the first one
push the cork all the way into the bottle
7
his wife was there with another guy, and he knew the divorce would make him bankrupt.
leave the middle switch off
3 they jumped, and landed and were still on the lilly pad
Reply:Billy would be 7 years old, not 3...
7 - 3 = 4, 4 x 3 = 12, 7 + 5 = 12
(To clarify the first two answers)
Reply:Billy is 3 years old but I dont know the others I will watch for the answers
Reply:Hats off.

Reply:Alongside ploughman’s lunch and scampi and chips, the bar food menu also lists GSEG. What is it? Scrambles Eggs
If you put a small coin into an empty wine bottle and replace the cork, how could you get the coin out of the bottle without taking out the cork or breaking the bottle? Heat the bottle - expanding air pops the cork.

Three switches outside a windowless room are connected to three light bulbs inside the room. How can you work out which switch connects to which bulb if you are only allowed to enter the room once? And you can not leave the door open to look in. Flip them on in intervals and then check the heat of the bulbs when you go in.
There are three frogs on a lily-pad leaf. Two decide to jump. How many frogs are left? Three, just because they jumped doesn%26#039;t mean they jumped off.
2.put a hole in the cork
or
instead of taking the cork out, you could push the cork in
3.Billy is 7
(5+B)=3(B-3)
5+B=3B-9
14=2B
B=7
4. He was playing monopoly... darn boardwalk
5.flip two switches and wait. flip one off. Go to the other room, if the light is on its the switch thats still flipped, if its off, and feels warm, its the one you had flipped on and off, if its off and cold, its the switch you never touched.
6.zero, the bounce of the lily pad shook off the other one

How does this sound for a prologue?
July 9, 2052
I still have nightmares about the night I almost got married. I know you won’t understand this. It is unexplainable but, I can still feel the tears coming down my face when he found me. It happened forty-four years ago and I still remember exactly what happened. My parents always wanted the best for me. As we were some what royalty, I had to marry a prince or a lord. Or at least, that is what they wanted. He was handsome, I admit. He just wasn’t the one for me. I was a Hemophage and he was a Blood Feeding Vampire. I just didn’t think it would work. For one thing, I hated when he killed Humans for their blood. It just disgusted me. A Hemophage, as I forgot to mention, is a type of Vampire. A Hemophage can feed on Human emotions, Human blood, or everyday Human food. Yes, it is all about the Humans.
I’ve only ever met one Emotion Stealer, a Vampire who feeds off of Human emotions, and that is my dad, Noah. Noah is the quiet type. He keeps to himself a lot. Needless to say, I didn’t really know him growing up. The most I knew about him was his hair was naturally forest green and his eyes were a soft grey. Not a whole lot. So, we were never close. My mother is the one who raised me my whole life. Her hair was blonde with blue highlights. I loved her eyes. They were the color of chocolate. She was also the one that made me hate Blood Feeders, a Vampire that feeds off Human blood. Lily, my mother, came home one night after hunting with a bloodied Human in her mouth. After that, I didn’t believe killing Humans was right. Of course being a Vampire might seem cool to some of you but, you haven’t seen what I have. The rules aren’t all that fair. Just like the rule that says all young women must be married after their sixteenth birthday.
I’m not special like you think. Nothing is special about people thinking you are dead. The only thing that bothers my parents is that I have a choice. When I eat normal food they had a problem with it. It’s like they thought I couldn’t run my own life. Other than that it wasn’t easy being me. I was constantly hunted by the two clans of Vampires I mentioned. Emotion Stealers and Blood Feeders. They wanted to kill me because I was special. But then again I was easy to find. Most Hemophages walked on your world. We were inconspicuous that way. The others live in the shadows and eat people like you.
This is my story and I promise to tell you everything. I can’t leave anything out for your sake or you will get confused. It is a little scary, but you need to know. It may have happened to you or someone you know. When I think of this story, I close my eyes and I feel my hair changing from chocolate brown to pale silver. I feel my wrinkles tighten against my bones. I feel my blood run cold and I hear one loud beat before my heart quiets. I feel I have more energy and that youthful innocence returns. I open my eyes. I am Kairi Robinson and I am sixteen years old. Most call me a princess. Others call me a snot-nosed, spoiled brat.
My ambition to become a Human returns to my head and I remember the only way I will be one. I’ll become a Human only if I fall in love with a Werewolf. But the Werewolf needs to fall in love with me as well. It isn’t as easy as it seems because my wedding night was in my way.
Daniel Michael Andrews was handsome for seventeen but, he wasn’t the guy for me. That is why I wasn’t thrilled when my parents brought him home. We were to be married the week after my sixteenth birthday. But that was before I knew. Everything was different after that. Everything was so different.
How does this sound for a prologue?
The answerer above said it quite well; however, you deserve more than one answer. I think that your concept is intriguing, but I also think that you are writing too much in your prologue --a prologue should just give an introduction to what is to come later, a sort of hint. After you make your revelations in the first paragraph, you should concentrate on saying only a bit more before drawing the prologue to a close and beginning the actual story where, in small increments, you can add your details. Readers prefer action and dialog to long descriptive paragraphs, so try to start your story with activities and sprinkle that with musings by your heroine/protagonist as the story progresses. One more observation from me: Due to the apparently extreme popularity of the %26quot;Twilight%26quot; series, there are countless young prospective writers developing vampire stories; therefore, to be successful, you will need to produce a novel which is original and compelling. Still, you do have an interesting start, so go ahead with it; see if you can write an exciting story. Good luck!
Reply:Eh, it seems too much like you%26#039;re just describing this Hemophage thing you made up. It%26#039;s got a lot of cliche ideas floating around.
You%26#039;re more explaining the plot because it%26#039;s so complicated, rather than just having the plot happen. Then again, this is a prologue you said.
Plus, is it normal to get married at 17? Maybe I%26#039;m just uncultured and forced marriages (er...arranged) are that young, but it seems they should be older. I get the feeling you are around that age and even if you aren%26#039;t it sends that vibe out like you%26#039;re %26quot;writing what you know.%26quot;
I mean, I don%26#039;t know. It%26#039;s a struggle with fantasy and sci-fi to force in all the rules and terms but that%26#039;s part of what makes you good or bad at it. Shoving it all in a prologue isn%26#039;t good enough because we should be able to skip the prologue and not loose anything important -- it should all come out bit by bit as it arises in the story. But instead, EVERYTHING important is in the prologue.
The writing is conversational and not bad by any means, but the content sort of makes me cringe even as a sci-fi writer.

What should my little sister sing for her school talent show?
My little sister is 9 years old and she wants to enter into her school%26#039;s talent show. She wants to sing a song, but the problem is that she%26#039;s not a great singer; a few more years and she%26#039;ll be great. But she%26#039;s little, I don%26#039;t expect the competition to be serious, and thus I will not discourage her aspiration and coach her. I want to choose an easy song for her to sing, like Lily Allen%26#039;s cover of %26quot;Naive%26quot; or %26quot;With Love%26quot; by Hilary Duff. Does anybody have any other, better ideas?
What should my little sister sing for her school talent show?

Reply:Whatever you choose,PLEASE don%26#039;t let it be %26quot;(The Sun Will Come Out) Tomorrow%26quot; from Annie!!!
Reply:First off, any good coach or teacher knows you keep the songs age appropriate. That said, are your choices appropriate for her age? Is she old enough to have lived through the experiences the songs are speaking of? I won%26#039;t say %26#039;yes%26#039; or %26#039;no%26#039; because I%26#039;m unfamiliar with the songs.
I would highly suggest seeking out a song that is more appropriate for her age. Go with something by Hannah Montana if you want to %26quot;rock it out%26quot;, by all means. The Cheetah Girls are another great choice for a 9 year old. Disney songs are great choices for young voices - most of them are simple enough that they don%26#039;t intimidate a young singer. And they are familiar, %26quot;power%26quot; songs young singers can relate to.
My top picks:
* Strut - Cheetah Girls
* Part of Your World - Little Mermaid
* Cinderella - Cheetah Girls
* Any of Hannah Montana%26#039;s songs
* Somewhere Over the Rainbow
* Somewhere Out There
ETA: Yes, Disney does have some power-house singers, but mostly they are just perfectionists.
I had two students this spring (back in February) who sang a couple of Disney songs. One sang %26quot;Cinderella%26quot;, her voice is weak but her routine was tight. She won her age division. Another sang a Hannah Montana song and really worked the crowd. Another who didn%26#039;t have that strong of a voice but really worked it!
I%26#039;ve used %26quot;Part of Your World%26quot; and %26quot;Candle on the Water%26quot; for a couple of girls before and they did exceedingly well. Really, as long as the song is age appropriate and your sis is hyped about singing it she%26#039;ll do great! If you like I don%26#039;t mind passing along the routine for %26#039;Cinderella%26#039; - you can email me from my profile if you%26#039;re interested.
Reply:Well Hilary Duff doesn%26#039;t have much talent so her songs are fairly easy to sing. I also think that its appropriate for your sister%26#039;s age, her peers will most likely know Hilary Duff songs rather than Lily Allen. Some of Lily Allen%26#039;s lyrics might be a bit too mature for a 9 year old. Good luck to your sis, she%26#039;ll be awesome anyway. It takes a lot of courage to get on stage and sing.
Reply:%26quot;Somewhere Over the Rainbow%26quot; It%26#039;s a show stopper everytime!

I think you may have answered your own question there Lily, as there seems to be a lot of doubt from your side.
I%26#039;m glad for you that you live separately from this man It sounds as though he%26#039;s chipping away at your self esteem with all his criticisms of you.
Does he really make you happy?
You%26#039;re free to do as you please for the time being, why not stay that way?
Reply:If you love him stay, and fight for a change for the better in your relationship, He sounds quite cruel at times, so tell him its unacceptable, and you wont put up with it. If you dont love him, leave.
Reply:At 53 your boyfriend sounds immature and not sure of what he wants. It could be that he is miserable because you are younger and he feels he will eventually lose you. He doesn%26#039;t have a lot of time to realize that you are probably the best thing that could ever happen to him if you hve left him 3 times and still returned, it seems you really care for him. But yo can%26#039;t help[ a grown man to grow up. Tell him your concerns and let him know you are there for him no matter what he is going through.
Reply:If you go it will be trouble.

Reply:Lily,
From the sounds of things you have live life long enough to know what people are like by now. There must be something that has kept you there for 3 years but at the same time there must be something pushing you away from him. Many guys will pick on your negative traits, this is something we do from a very young age, but at 52 he should have outgrown this at least to be mature enough with you. He may think he is just being %26#039;cute%26#039; or fun. As far as saying %26quot;I love you%26quot;, you have to really ask is there anything behind those words or is it just words strung together to make you feel comfortable? If you don%26#039;t feel secure though it is always hard to stay and this may be clouding your judgment a bit... but this does say a lot for not staying.
I think you should weigh up the pro%26#039;s and con%26#039;s of staying together. You aren%26#039;t too old to start again so you can take either fork in the road.
Good luck to you either way go and give the song of the same name as this question by %26#039;The Clash%26#039; a listen... it may help

Reply:hi first you need to look long and hard if you truely are happy in this relationship, do you hand on heart really love him. i understand far to well alot of what you have put, ive had similar experiences as far as livin apart being with someone who suffers with depression and the lack of sex drive at times, which by the way can be caused through depression, it also effects them from being affectionate. ive had the funny remarks too with my downfalls or like you said negative traits, but i have to say unlike you ive not ended the relationship, i have had my partner say its ended when hes been to low, him not wanting me to go through what hes going through. but i think your situation goes beyond mine. 3 years you have been with him and you leave and you go back, it seems to me from what your saying nothing has really changed, ask yourself can i be with him for another 3 years and more with how it is, do you feel unhappy with being with him, try to write alist of his negatives and his positives or the negatives and positives of the relationship and see how they weigh up, see which one has more to it if there are far to many negatives then maybe its time for you to end it all and make a fresh start for yourself. why be in a relationship when your not fully happy and only because youve grown to except it how it is and thats it. we all deserve to feel happy loved and need to feel appreciated. is there anythink you can do to maybe try to get him out of the depressed mood, do you at all have any social life together outside of the 4 walls of your homes? see i think if you can find a hobby or an interest you can both share or get him to venture out and take his mind away from what depresses him then you may be able to get back something that the 2 of you can share and it may help to brighten both your spirits.
ive found a mutual ground and interest with my partner and its fishing, we both love fishing and although im the novice and hes more of an expert its given us something to look forward to, also its got him out of the house and to somewhat out of his depression as his mind is so focused on the fishing he doesnt have time to mope about, infact hes more out at fishing than in these days, we live a distance from each other so we are coping with a long distance relationship, but i have to say im happy with him going fishing as its giving us more to talk about aswell over the phone as im learning about the hobby more too, see its about finding something to bring you back closer to each other. im lucky that i have great communication in my relationship, so listen chin up do look at it from the bigger picture not just how it is at the moment, think ahead and answer that important question, do i want this for the rest of my life the way it is. good luck all the best.

every relationship has its problems, they are like speed bumps... you have to slow down to get over them because if you just speed up it could mess everything up and you can end up no where. =] but if you slow down and take the time to get over it, you will be fine and get farther.

Should I stay or should I go?

Do i have any errors on my book report?
Introduction
The book I am reading is called “Pictures of Hollis Woods” and the author is “Patricia Reilly Giff” who I think is an amazing author. She plotted her book step by step to get every reader every interest into it and that is what she did (to me at least). This is one book I finally got interested into it which is kind of amazing. This is an amazing book because it shows how lucky kids or people can be since they have parents. Parents are there for you to help you through life. On the other hand this book shows a girl who is an orphan since she was a baby. She was found in a blanket when she was baby with a note on it that says “Name her Hollis Woods”.
I never really cared about anything until I read this book. I used to always be like my parents are just there and who really needs them. They always work and work but I never thought about why do they work and if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be here. I need to stop talking about the book and start talking about the author since this is just the introduction. Her name is Patricia Reilly Giff.
This book is not the only book she has written but she also has written books like “Lily’s Crossing” and “Maggie’s Door”. She won two Newberry Honor Books and this was one of them. When Patricia was a young girl she use to love reading so much when her older sister wanted to talk to her, she would have to take away the book from her. Patricia’s favorite books were “Little Women”, “The Secret Garden” and much more. This affection to love went through her blood to her children. She was also a reading teacher for twenty years, a person who gives professional advice for Dell Yearling and Young Yearling books, and last but not least and author for about sixty books. Let us just say she was surrounded by books all her life.
After she got her Bachelors Degree at the college of Marymount she took the advice of her professor and became a reading teacher. She even admitted that she loved teaching and that it was her life and the only reason she left her job because she was writer, teacher, and a mom. During her twenty years of teaching she earned her Masters Degree from St. John University. One morning she told her husband Jim:”I would like to write a book and that is sure what I am going to do”.
Patricia needed an office so her husband Jim cramped two closets together to make one room. So we can say she started writing in a closet but that is better than nothing. She also said that she wants her readers to cry or laugh from the book she has written or to be so interested into the book that they will take it anywhere with them. Ever book Patricia writes she makes kids think about other people or struggles we should all think about. If she is not able to do so she would walk in the park, ask her kids Ali, Jim, and Bill, or lay down just to get an idea to write a book about. When she is on break from writing she usually reads while she is taking a bath or going to the movies. This is what she quotes” I want to see children curled up with books, finding an awareness of themselves as they discover other people%26#039;s thoughts. I want them to make the connection that books are people%26#039;s stories, that writing is talking on paper, and I want them to write their own stories. I%26#039;d like my books to provide that connection for them.%26quot; --Patricia Reilly Giff.

Reply:I agree with everything hdegrave said. You need to remember that you can%26#039;t write like you talk. You should write more formally. If this is a typical book report then you should stay focused on the story and not on the life of the author. Unless specifically stated otherwise in your assignment. It sounds like you enjoyed the book and got something from it, but you should remember to carefully read the directions. This is a common but deadly error. Is this supposed to be a general summary? Can you give us the specific directions for your assignment?

The first and most important is that your paper has no direction. What do you want to achieve in writing this? Do you want to tell readers about the author, about the social message in the book, about the plot? Ask yourself that question, and re-write it all.
Then think about grammar and other technicalities.

Does anyone STILL hate SNAPE as much as I do.?
I am so sorry. I just finished the book for the second time at the request of my best friend who was totally sure ole Snivellus would redeem himself and be found out a hero in DH. Well I STILL don%26#039;t see it.
Yes Sev loved Lily...BIG DEAL! He was still a mass murderer. Sev honestly believed that pureblood crap, he was mean and seperatist even in high scool (even tho he was bullied by PUREBLOODS) He had been a death eater for YEARS. They didnt throw parties, people. They KILLED.
As for the LP thing, there was so much more he could have done if he really thought she was in so much danger from Vol. And even Dumbledore noted with the utmost contempt that Sev was willing to let an innocent child die so a woman who would NEVER be with him would live. That%26#039;s not heroic that selfish and pathetic.
He was so super jealous of James %26quot;taking%26quot; LP that he was more than happy to let JP die. His treatment of Harry stemmed from that hatred.
Finally, Sev worked for BOTH sides until the day he died. He himself said NOBODY is that good of an actor. He wasn%26#039;t completely loyal to neither Dum nor Vol. He saw benefits and his beliefs in both sides and so he stood up for those beliefs and defended them with actions, the good and the bad. Sev did very bad things, and he enjoyed doing those very bad things. That makes him a very bad person. End of story. Just because he had a few redeeming qualities doesnt change the harm that he has caused for many many years.
THIS MAY OFFEND SOME PEOPLE
I equate Severus%26#039; character to that of someone as bad as a slavemaster. He can love and adore his wife and children in splendor, and then go right outside to kill and abuse his forced help. This is a terrible person inside and out and does not deserve pity. Sev got his desserts for playing both sides because Vol made it clear that he needed no one and Sev knew what was coming to him.
Sorry about that, I just don%26#039;t see how people can make the fact that Sev cared about LP a reason to turn him into some sort of tragic hero and exonerate him of his crimes which more than deserved a death sentence.
Does anyone STILL hate SNAPE as much as I do.?
I never did hate him. I thought from the very start that he was SO much cooler than all those pathetic goodie two shoes.
Yup, he was evil. So what. He still rules.
Reply:Short answer: He is a bad man, but not truly evil.
I think he was %26quot;good%26quot; in the sense that he was on Dumbledore%26#039;s and Harry%26#039;s sides, against Voldemort. At the same time, however, he was a huge jerk.
Let%26#039;s not pull any punches here; Snape is not a nice man. He is petty and mean-spirited, filled with bitterness. He never could get over his hatred of Harry%26#039;s father, and it caused him to be unbelievably nasty and spiteful to harry throughout the series. He seems to delight in mentally tormenting Harry even as he tries to help him. This is because he still resents James Potter, both for the things he did and jealousy because he married Lily.
Of course you could also draw parallels to Harry here--Harry was also unable to let go of his hatred for Snape, and never really trusted or respected the man. In a way I think the two people%26#039;s mutual grudges, that neither could let go of, fed off each other. That was why in book 5 when Snape was teaching Harry Occlumency things went so terribly. Harry couldn%26#039;t get over his hatred of Snape and never really opened his mind to learning. Snape couldn%26#039;t get over his hatred of Harry and intentionally made the lessons as traumatic as possible.
However there is good in him, good which Lily brought out. It brought him redemption in the end. If Lily had not died he might have stayed a Death Eater forever, serving Voldemort until the end. But after Voldemort killed Lily, he really did change. I don%26#039;t think it was just that he hated Voldemort for killing Lily; he also felt remorse that he had become a part of it, and I think he realized the true evil of what Voldemort was doing.
So in the end Snape is a spiteful little antihero. There is a complexity in him. Not liking the guy is probably natural--as a person I definitely don%26#039;t like him. But as a character I think he%26#039;s complex and very interesting, and I like that he doesn%26#039;t fit neatly into either %26quot;good%26quot; or %26quot;evil.%26quot;
Reply:Yeah, he was no hero. He was a Death Eater who got revenge. But he chose to do a hard job, and he did it to the end.
Reminds me of Darth Vader...how we are supposed to think that Vader is all good at the end. But what does he do? He brings a super-tempting person in front of the Emperor, who surely he must hate after all these years, for tricking him into his dark path. (Annakin surely is not a guy who is going to accept responsibility for his choices, and after the events of Ep 3, there%26#039;s no one left around to blame) Then, when the emperor is distracted torturing the kid, Vader gets his revenge by toppling the guy. Maybe the fact that it was his child pushed him a little, but that doing something to help your own child hardly makes you a shining example of moral goodness.
Reply:I totally agree with you. Snape was only really looking out for himself, if you really think about it. Sure, he did what he had to do, but if you think about it, Dumbledore basically had to guilt him into keeping watch over Harry.
People who go %26quot;Poor Snape, he was such a great guy%26quot; have truly not read the books. They obviously fantasize about him too much.
My dad totally went with the fact that Snape was a good guy, and we had a serious debate over it. I%26#039;m a firm believer that Snape was a bad person, that saving Harry really didn%26#039;t redeem him because he was only doing it over Dumbledore giving him a guilt trip.

I believe that Severus%26#039; life changed when Lilly died. Then on, he fought the dark lord - the dark arts, the whole muggle, wizard born idea. He, I believe, is almost a replica of dumbldore. When their lives changed and they turned to the %26#039;good side%26#039;. We don%26#039;t know who or how many people he killed anyway, and as for his %26#039;nasty%26#039; character, I wouldn%26#039;t be great pals with the son of the man who pulled down my pants!!!
severus%26#039; dispute with James wasn%26#039;t sparked by jealous, as you put it, but by James%26#039; arrogance and nasty comments on the train. They started it. By bullying him that day by calling him, just like you, Snivellus!
He also (I realised you didn%26#039;t mention) attempted to save Lupin%26#039;s life and punished Jinny (and the gang when they attempted to steal the sword) by doing detention with Hagrid.
He didn%26#039;t harm any member of hogwarts or put them in harms way.
He was teaching potter (through his potions book) by allowing him to keep it even though he knew he had it and just when he was leaving hogwarts at the end of 6. telling potter not to use forgivable curses, use your mind etc.... to fight the dark lord.
This man has sacrificed so much and put his life on the path for good, and now to turn around and even doubt his goodness, is as you put it, offensive.
Reply:While I agree with you in principal, some of your arguments do not stand up to scrutiny. Eventhough he had sociopathic tendencies, there is no direct evidence he participated personally in the death of any person except Dumbledore. Granted, he is still guilty by association, but he acted more in information gathering than as lackey.
The need to play both sides is an extremely difficult thing to do. He did do what he could to minimize the punishments doled out at hogwarts but was limited in what he could do by this subterfuge. I do agree in the sense that his first concern was for Severus Snape.
Even his life long love was selfish in nature as expressed by yourself. I do feel that J. K. Rowling expressed in interviews that he was still a despicable person, brave yes, but noble, no (my paraphrasing, not her exact words). This being said, I do not understand how she justified the epilogue and Harry%26#039;s sentiments except that he was young and forgave Snape due to the fact he did love Lily and at Dumbledore%26#039;s assessment.
I enjoyed Snape%26#039;s character immensely, and prayed she would not alter his personality to fit in with all the %26#039;Snape is good%26#039; crowd. I think she dealt with him appropriately in that sense. I do feel, however, that he did prefer Dumbledores ways to Voldmorts. He had seen the error of his previous beliefs and did not share Voldemort%26#039;s sentiments in the end. However, for him to make a complete change was quite beyond his characters limits due to these ingrained prejudices.
I am with you, I don%26#039;t think he was redempted either, I just wanted to point out a few things to think about.

So in the end Snape is a spiteful little antihero. There is a complexity in him. Not liking the guy is probably natural--as a person I definitely don%26#039;t like him. But as a character I think he%26#039;s complex and very interesting, and I like that he doesn%26#039;t fit neatly into either %26quot;good%26quot; or %26quot;evil.%26quot;

What happened to Harry Potter's grandparents?
In the Harry Potter series, Harry had to live with his mother%26#039;s sister. However, Harry%26#039;s parents were 20 years old when they had Harry. Only a few years before that, they were in school at Hogwarts, and would go home to their families during the summer. So, what happened to James Potter%26#039;s parents and Lily Evans%26#039;s parents?
What happened to Harry Potter%26#039;s grandparents?
strange that they aren%26#039;t mentioned much in the book. but according to JKR they have little to do with the plot and died of natural causes (before or maybe just after Harry was born i assume).
James%26#039; parents were quite old and had him rather late in their lives but we don%26#039;t know anything at all about Lily%26#039;s parents.
but it doesn%26#039;t quite add up because James and Lily were 21 when they died (according to the dates on their graves in book 7). for both of them to have lost both their parents by that age.....very strange indeed...
Reply:She never mentioned them. But she does mention Harry ancestor uncle with the name Peverell.
Reply:Wow.... thats a really good question...........
Reply:I suspect that Valdemort got them while he was looking for the Potters. There%26#039;s also a possibility that Lily did what Hermione did and sent her Muggle parents into hiding. She might not have told Petunia where. Since she didn%26#039;t survive, they continued in their new lives with no knowledge of her or Petunia.
While you are at it, there%26#039;s no mention of how Mr. %26amp; Mrs. Black died either. We know how Regulus died, but his mother at least was still alive then. I suspect she demanded answers from Valdemort and was killed for it.
Valdemort was killing people right and left both times he rose to power. It really didn%26#039;t matter to him what their blood status was if they opposed him. He knew from his own lineage that a half-blood or a muggle born was likely to as powerful as a pure blood.

They need to be dead for the purposes of the story, but their deaths are obviously not important for the story line or JK would have mentioned them.
You%26#039;re right, they are conspicuously absent though.
