Is Bible a Word of God???
its wonderful isnt it.

Its god word and literal fact when they want to convince us they are right. When its wrong and got contradictions its because men wrote it.

Absolutly classic
Reply:yes some where came from god, but for sure it was already been summaries or getting edited by some else's

for the diff. books like the new testaments i think that its came from humanist writers of the bible...
Reply:The Old Testament is based upon the Jewish Torah which most jews will admit is based upon ASTRONOMY, and ASTROLOGY, there's also a lot of drug use (magic mushrooms, aka manna from heaven, aka "honey").

The stories in the new testament had been around for a long time before this fictional christ character, they were written by different groups of people, but mainly from what they've found they were created by two groups called The Essenes (of dead sea scroll fame) and The Gnostics.

They didn't write these stories to be taken in a literal sense, they wrote these stories to conceal their knowledge of shamanic hallucinogenic drug use (magic mushrooms,) astrology, and astronomy, from what later became the church itself who told everyone that the sun revolved around the earth for 1600 years which were known as the Dark Ages. They've been pushing this false literal historical perspective of the bible ever since they persecuted and killed off the sun worshipping drug users that wrote those tales in it. Christianity is the biggest act of hypocrisy ever created, and there's nothing holy about any of it.

All religions have these same essential roots.. sun and planet worship, and the use of hallucinogenic drugs.
Reply:The same standards apply to heathen evidence as to biblica. Is it based on a primary source? Is it biased, ambiguous or simply wrong? Relevant evidence is extremely scarce; what, if anything, does silence imply? In the early parts of the Bible's story, biblical persons have yet to be identified correctly in any external sources. There have been many attempts, and some confident claims, but as yet there is no good reason to identify Moses or Joseph with any known person or period in ancient Egyptian records.

Every impartial reader must, like Mark Twain, reach the conclusion that: "The Bible is a mass of fables and traditions, mere mythology."
Reply:nope, it was wrote by people who contradicted each other then it was also mistranslated

if it was the work of a single author then it wouldn't be so self-contradictory

also many are going to make reasons for why people see contradictions, some have started but this is the religious version of a getoutofjail free card
Reply:That reminds me of how the Quran says the Earth was created in 6 days (just like the Bible said FIRST) It says this is several places, and THEN, it describes the creation account...which adds up to 8 days!!! 8 and 6 are different numbers. Maybe Mohammad should have asked Allah to teach him how to count.

This, and many many other contradictions in the Quran PROVE it is the words of MEN, who were pretending to speak for the one true God (whose name is THE FORCE)

Incidentally, there is something you should know about the founder of that website. Zakir Naik is a slippery liar. He even looks dishonest. You are his mindless puppet now. Snap out of it
Reply:this is actually boring question to read besides your 1st one is a story, how can u argue wit a story? and dont simply pick out verses read above and read below also......
Reply:it was , but man changed it

if you are seeking the truth read the Davinci code it was written by Christian writer

if you want to listen to god's words you may read the quran it hasn't changed at all and you will never find any contridections at all

this link is a translation to quran in English

Reply:Yes there are a lot of discrepancies throughout the Bible. There's also a tonne of books to why. What I read was this, firstly it was written about 400AD. So that's maybe 4-5 generations of being told orally in the disciples families before it was ever written down. That accounts for a lot. And some also conclude rivalry between the disciples as well. Some say that the words of some are totally fictitious and made up. Mainly Paul, from what I read, was a bit of a lair said by the people around him. He talked in riddles and made little sense.

There's a book I read, I think it was called "Misquoting Jesus - Who changed the story of the Bible" or something to that effect. It was quite interesting.
Reply:The bible was written by men and lots of them, purely to control people thats why there are contradictions. Im not anti-Christian thats just the way it is
Reply:I see that you are still in Kindergarden...

The first thing that righteous Noah did after landing off the ark was to plant a vineyard and make wine and get drunk. He got naked in his tent with his grandson Canaan… Poor kid… he turned out to be a disappointment! His grandpa Noah cursed the daylights out of him… In my old Christian School days I was told that the blacks were all descendants of Canaan…

The righteous Lot got drunk and had sex with his young virgin daughters until he got them pregnant! God must have enjoyed watching. He made Lot a Righteous man right on the spot!…

The first miracle that Jesus performed was to change water into wine!

A good shot of whiskey is prescribed BY GOD’S HOLY LAW as part of worship in his HOLY TEMPLE!!!

Deuteronomy 14:26 (NIV) Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink (KJV "strong drink"), or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice.

God Almighty prescribed a DAILY “strong drink offering” for himself… The pageantry of the strong drink poured on the fire of the Altar to the LORD must have been awesome to watch!!! For centuries it used to be a Christian tradition to pour a few drops on the table for God’s sake before you bottom up your “strong drink”…

Numbers 28:7 (NIV) The accompanying drink offering is to be a quarter of a hin of fermented drink (KJV "strong wine") with each lamb. Pour out the drink offering to the Lord at the sanctuary.

Proverbs 31:6-7 (NIV) Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish; let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more* (*Please don’t drink like this and drive! The Bible publishers are too irresponsible not to have warning labels on the Bibles!)

Even the Bible teaches that nothing beats a good shot of hard liquor to get you back on your feet!

Zachariah 9:17 (KJV-1611) For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! Corn (fermented corn, of course!) shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.

Regardless of your religion or lack thereof “Eat, DRINK and be merry for tomorrow we shall die” is an absolute universal truth! The same two-bit brained Christians banning abortion today were the ones who made the mobsters stinking rich people during the “prohibition” promoted by Billy Sunday saying that "Liquor is God's Worst Enemy" and had to be destroyed! Who knows what evils the misguided Pro-Lifers are planning for our nation now…!
Reply:Ok, Let me cut these down one at a time.

How old was Jehoiachin when he became king?

2 Chronicles 36:9 and 2 Kings 24:8

Eight years old 2 Chron. 36:9, "Jehoiachin was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem, and he did evil in the sight of the Lord."

Eighteen years old 2 Kings 24:8 "Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem."

The correct age of Jehoiachin was 18, not 8. Obviously, Jehoiachin was 18 when he began his rule since it says he did evil in the site of the Lord which suggests maturity and responsibility.

The discrepancy in ages is probably due to a copyist error. We can see that the difference in ages is 10 years. The system of number notation used by the Jews at the time of Ezra consisted of horizontal hooks that represented values of ten. would equal the number 14 where would be 24. If one or both of the hooks were smudged or flaked off of a papyri, then the dates would be off by values of 10 years.

Does this mean the Bible is not trustworthy? Not at all. Inspiration is ascribed to the original writings and not to the copies. Scribes made errors. However, the errors were very infrequent and from other information in the Bible, we can easily ascertain what the correct age is.

Another possible explanation is that the difference of 10 years from the two different texts could be that he began to rule with his father at the age of eight but did not take complete control until the age of 18, a 10-year difference.

How long did Jehoiachin rule over Jerusalem?

2 Kings 24:8 and 2 Chronicles 36:9

Three months (2 Kings 24:8) - "Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem," (NASB).

Three months and ten days (2 Chronicles 36:9) - "Jehoiachin was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem, and he did evil in the sight of the Lord," (NASB).

The discrepancy in duration is due to a copyist error. We can see that the difference time is 10 days. The system of number notation used by the Jews at the time of Ezra consisted of horizontal hooks that represented decades, or "tens." would equal the number 14 where would be 24. If one or both of the hooks were smudged or flaked off of a papyri, then the dates would be off by a value of ten. Therefore, most probably, the correct value was three months and ten days since the hook could easily have flaked off in a copy.

Does this mean the Bible is not trustworthy? Not at all. Inspiration is ascribed to the original writings and not to the copies. Scribes made errors. However, the errors were very infrequent and from other information in the Bible, we can easily ascertain what the correct age is.

How many baths, 2000 or 3,000?

1 Kings 7:26 and 2 Chronicles 4:5

2,000 baths (1 Kings 7:26) - "And it was a handbreadth thick, and its brim was made like the brim of a cup, as a lily blossom; it could hold two thousand baths."

3,000 baths (2 Chronicles 4:5) - "And it was a handbreadth thick, and its brim was made like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom; it could hold 3,000 baths."

It appears that the difference in numbers is do to a copyist error. The characters used for the numbers 2,000 and 3,000 are similar. = 2,000 and = 3,000. A tired copyist could easily mistake one for another.

The diameter of a bowl is mathematically incorrect

2 Chron. 4:2

(2 Chronicles 4:2) - "Then he made a bronze altar, twenty cubits in length and twenty cubits in width and ten cubits in height. 2Also he made the cast metal sea, ten cubits from brim to brim, circular in form, and its height was five cubits and its circumference thirty cubits," (NASB).

The diameter of a circle divided into the circumference always equals 3.14159... Here in 2 Chron. 4:2, the diameter is equal to three since the circumference of 30 divided by the diameter of 10 is equal to three and not 3.14. Is this a problem? Not at all.

First of all, the Bible is not intended to be a scientific book on geometry. Second, the inside of the bowl could have been 10 cubits while the outside diameter was 31.4159 cubits. Third, it was a common practice in the Bible to give rounded numbers to represent the whole. Please note the following examples:

Num. 31:32-34, "Now the booty that remained from the spoil which the men of war had plundered was 675,000 sheep, 33and 72,000 cattle, 34and 61,000 donkeys."

Josh. 8:25, "And all who fell that day, both men and women, were 12,000—all the people of Ai."

Judges 7:3, "Now therefore come, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is afraid and trembling, let him return and depart from Mount Gilead.’" So 22,000 people returned, but 10,000 remained."

2 Chron. 2:14, "And Solomon amassed chariots and horsemen. He had 1,400 chariots, and 12,000 horsemen, and he stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem."

Obviously, numbers were rounded on a regular basis. Therefore, the rounding of the diameter measurement is consistent with the biblical method.
Reply:The Bible as a whole is the Word of God.

The authentic sayings of the Prophets are the commands of God.

Other parts written by men such as historians, scribes, recorders...are similar to ordinary books written by philosophers.

All contradictions are explained in that Book, but they cannot be understood by people of no faith. It seems contradictory when God commands man to love not and to hate not! Only a humble man studying it with faith, meditation, sincerity, purity, detachment..., may comprehend some aspects of the divine truth. That is why the Bible still remains as one of the Sacred Scriptures of the prominent people throughout history.

GU-UN
Reply:Bible is not the word of God as in the Christian understanding. It is, however, an ancient book of occult or cabbalistic wisdom using astrology and numerology to hide deeper truths. Those less learned take surface stories as literal or historical.
Reply:there are no contradictions in the Bible.

Have you ever read it or are you picking these up off another site?

jehoiakim had several sons in line for the throne..he named his son Jehoiachin as the new King when he was 8 yrs old.

jehoiachin did not take the throne until his dad passed away 10 ys. later. he was 18 at the time. There is no contradictions in the Bible NONE
Reply:each book in the bible was written by different men, at different times. naturally there are going to be different accounts of what is in there.
Reply:. When an author writes a book, he or she usually fashions it to appeal to a specific group of people. Some books are written for the highly educated, others for children, still others for those in specialized fields. While the Bible is easily available to all, it is meant to be understood and appreciated by a particular group of people. Jehovah crafted it for the humble, the meek ones of the earth. Such people can grasp the sense of the Bible, whatever their education, culture, station in life, or ethnic group. (1 Timothy 2:3, 4) On the other hand, an understanding of Bible truth is denied to those not rightly disposed, no matter how intelligent or educated they may be. The haughty, the proud, cannot grasp the precious truths of God’s Word. (Matthew 13:11-15; Luke 10:21; Acts 13:48) Only God could produce such a book.
Reply:Yes it is the Word of God and it can be your best friend or your worse enemy!

Your not filled with the Spirit of God so You can't understand the Word of God. You only see it with your own understanding instead the way God wants you too.
